Soft skills, skills related to communication, play an important role in the effective implementation of professional development. Ideally, an assessor will want opportunities to improve their practice. This is not always the case. Perhaps the improvements they want are not a priority for the organisation—they may want to create computer-based assessment instruments when the organisation does not use online learning or assessment—or they are content with their current position and skills.
