About Lesson

The Australian Qualifications Framework will be covered in detail in Chapter 3. Briefly, however, when you are delivering nationally recognised training, you are working within the AQF. This framework sets out the standards of education and qualifications across Australia, and across every education sector, in one policy framework. It spans education and training in:

  • schools
  • TAFEs
  • universities
  • VET providers
  • RTOs
  • private training providers.

In terms of VET training, this generally encompasses entry-level qualifications (Certificate I and II levels) up to Advanced Diploma, and beyond for higher education. The AQF provides guidance on the skill and knowledge levels a participant in a qualification program is expected to achieve as a result of training and to be able to apply in the workplace.
