Overview

If you are working in a small or large business, have staff reporting to you or are new to managing staff, then the Diploma of Leadership and Management may be the most practical way of improving your skills and knowledge to achieve better results. This qualification reflects the role of individuals like you who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of business contexts.

By choosing to enrol in this diploma, you will undertake three, three-day workshops (either virtual or face-to-face), that cover the numerous aspects of contemporary leadership and managements skills such as business leadership, people leadership and performance leadership. SpecTraining’s content is regularly updated to reflect current methods and theories so you’re always getting the latest and best information.

Due to the potential diversity of learners and learning styles, SpecTraining’s approach is based on the FUEL and GROW models. The preferred approach is to provide a combined model that offers both mentoring and/or coaching as required by the learner.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
They may plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

The course learning takes place through a combination of facilitator contact, readings, online videos, research, Zoom sessions, telephone/email contact, workplace tasks and formative and summative assessment.

After successful completion of this qualification, students may seek leadership positions in a variety of businesses as the skills are transferrable to most organisational contexts.

Further education:
If desired, learners may progress with sufficient experience, to undertake a university degree course (Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training or similar).
