  1. Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence: The principles of assessment (fairness, flexibility, validity, and reliability) ensure that assessment practices are equitable and adaptable, while accurately reflecting the candidate’s competency. The rules of evidence (validity, authenticity, currency, and sufficiency) guide the collection of evidence to ensure it genuinely represents the candidate’s skills and knowledge. These principles and rules ensure assessments are conducted ethically and standards are consistently met.

  2. Use of Industry Experts: Involving industry experts in the assessment process helps ensure that assessment tools remain relevant and up-to-date with current industry standards and practices. Their expertise ensures the assessment reflects real-world requirements and maintains the training’s industry relevance.

  3. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): RPL allows individuals to gain recognition for skills and knowledge acquired through work and life experiences, formal training, or other qualifications.
