Overview

This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people facilitating training under supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, who deliver via a face-to-face and in-person delivery model. It covers essential competencies for effectively delivering training and assessment, including planning and organising group-based learning, facilitating group dynamics, and managing the delivery of quality training sessions. It’s ideal for vocational educators, trainers, and workplace assessors, this skill set equips professionals with the tools to engage learners, foster interactive learning environments, and adapt to diverse learner needs. It emphasises practical techniques for effective communication and engagement, ensuring participants can lead and manage educational sessions with confidence and expertise.

The customised program has been designed for accelerated training and assessment to suit those who have been working in a supervisory or training-based role.

This skill set is suitable for individuals who are involved in developing the skills of their team. In particular these competencies are identified as essential skills for those engaged in training staff across a number of disciplines.

The course provides opportunities to practice and develop your planning, development and training skills during the workshop.

Additional training and assessment evidence may also be collected from the workplace where or if applicable.

 

Delivery Methods

  1. 2 Day Closed cohort delivery/ face-to-face: perfect for groups of trainees who work together in a single workplace. Additional evidence of training deliveries to be gathered in the workplace. 
  2. Online e-learning pathway. This is a Self-Paced process of working through the content and assessments while you apply them in your workplace or real world situation. 

Post Course Assessment Support

Assessment support directly from your assessor via telephone and email.

The following processes will be applied for students considered to be “at risk”:

  • Development of an individualised Study Management Plan
  • One-on-one tutorials

Learning activities

Presentation of information, interactive discussion, case studies, role plays, group work and reflective practice

Participants are provided with learner’s resources including readings, case studies, assessment tasks and practical projects.

  • Third Party Workplace Report (where applicable)
  • Portfolio of Evidence

After the workshop, you’ll be required to complete two individual training sessions and three group training sessions in a work environment. All other evidence will be collected during the workshop.

This skill set provides graduates with opportunities for advancement within their workplace. Specifically in the areas of staff development and training.

Completion of this skills set may also provide the graduate with elective units that may be applied towards further study in the field of vocational training and assessment.
